Terms

1. About these terms
These terms apply to enquiries, tackle consultations and any equipment quotation or sale agreed with Buchanness Fishing Partnership, Edgewater House, Inverugie, Peterhead, AB42 3DP. They are intended to explain the basis on which we provide practical equipment advice and, where applicable, supply fishing tackle. Nothing in these terms removes or restricts rights that consumers have under applicable law.
2. Equipment advice
Advice is based on the information you provide about species, venue, method, current equipment and intended use. Fishing conditions and personal preferences vary, so a recommendation is an informed equipment assessment rather than a guarantee of performance or catch results. You are responsible for making sure your fishing activity is lawful at the relevant venue and that you use equipment safely and appropriately.
3. Consultations and quotations
Any consultation price shown on the website is a starting price for the described scope. If a request requires materially different work, we will explain the scope and price before it is agreed. Equipment availability and prices are confirmed in an individual quotation. A quotation does not create a contract until it is accepted in the manner we specify and any required payment has been received.
4. Goods and descriptions
Where we supply equipment, we take reasonable care to describe the goods accurately and to match specifications to the purpose discussed. Manufacturers may update finishes, packaging or minor specifications. If a material difference affects the agreed use, we will explain the available options before supply where reasonably possible.
5. Payment and delivery
Payment terms, delivery charges and expected delivery timing will be stated in the relevant quotation or order confirmation. Where consumer distance-selling rules apply, required pre-contract information will be provided before the order is concluded. Delivery dates are estimates unless we expressly agree a fixed date.
6. Cancellation, returns and statutory rights
Consumers buying at a distance will normally have statutory cancellation rights, subject to the exclusions and conditions in applicable law. Goods that are faulty, not as described or not fit for a purpose made known to the seller are subject to statutory consumer protections. Any return instructions we provide are in addition to, and do not replace, those rights.
7. Services
We provide consultations with reasonable care and skill. Where no specific completion time is agreed, the service will be provided within a reasonable time. If you ask us to begin a paid service during a statutory cancellation period, any effect on cancellation rights will be explained before the service starts where the law requires it.
8. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, we are not responsible for outcomes that arise from inaccurate or incomplete information supplied to us, use of equipment outside its intended specification, changes in fishing conditions, unlawful fishing activity or failure to follow manufacturer instructions and reasonable safety practices.
9. Fishing rules and catch handling
Licensing, access, seasons, size limits, protected species rules and fishery conditions vary by location. Our equipment advice is not a substitute for checking the rules that apply to the water you fish. You remain responsible for lawful fishing and appropriate catch care.
10. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms for future enquiries or orders when our services or legal obligations change. Any existing contract remains governed by the terms agreed when that contract was formed unless a lawful variation is agreed. These terms are governed by the law applicable to the contract and do not affect mandatory consumer protections that apply in your part of the United Kingdom.
11. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent to [email protected] or raised by telephone on +44 7779 245591. Postal correspondence may be sent to Edgewater House, Inverugie, Peterhead, AB42 3DP.
